By What Is Best

I hear you out there, asking a very pertinent question -- what is the best sock?

True, this is not one of life's quandaries. Still, 'tis better to wear the best sock than the worst. On that note, take heed of what I say herein. It may be most helpful in your individual sock hunt.

When thinking of the best sock, think of it in terms of construction -- what goes into your sock, and what you should not want in it. Let us talk first about what goes into the best sock -- what you should want in it. The best sock is that which is constructed of wool and/or synthetic fibers, and does something crucial -- it protects your feet. How does the best sock protect you?

The best sock does two essential things -- wicks moisture from your skin to keep you warm, and it pads high impact areas (like your heels).
